William “Bill” Brett, 76, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on July 1, 2015.  He was born on March 23, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Virginia Brett.  On July 29, 1963, he married Josephine White in Howell, Michigan.

Bill served his country in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years.   He also sailed and worked as a tug boat captain on the Great Lakes for a number of different companies.

Survivors include his wife Jody, 3 children, Robin (Scott) Franda, Sturgeon Bay; Jon Brett, Palm Springs, CA; and Kristina Anderson, Galesbury, IL; 5 grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Franda, Quinn, Drew, and Brock Anderson; his mother, Virginia Beardslee; in-laws, Bill White, John and Laurie White, Barbara and John Ayotte.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Kim.

Memorial services with veteran’s honors will be conducted at the Forbes Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.  Friends may call at the funeral home that morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
