I was so sorry to read about Dave's passing.  We worked together at the University for many years.  He was a fine man and a wonderful coworker  He worked very hard for the UI, especially in the area of safety.  I remember he took my family sailing once, and he spoke often of how proud he was of his family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to only this morning open Saturday's Press Citizen and read of the memorial service held yesterday at St. Andrews for David.   I am deeply disappointed to have missed it.   David was valued colleague for many years and I was so sorry to read earlier of his death.   Always happy to help and lend his expertise, always cordial, creative in his solutions to physical challenges faced by our faculty and staff--and always a very hard worker on our behalf.   I was sorry when he told me he was abruptly leaving his position at the University and deeply sorry to learn of his passing.   I hope his family will take comfort in how much he was respected and will be remembered by his colleagues.   May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to all of Dave's family.
I worked with Dave at Environmental Health & Safety for 20 years.  What a great man he was to work with.  May your memories of him live on forever.

Just a Memory Away
I'm no longer by your side but there's no need to weep;
I've left sweet recollections I'm hoping you will keep
Eternal joy and memories stay in our hearts forever,
Strengthening our special bond that parting cannot sever.
Now it's time to journey on, so let your faith be strong.
And if times of loneliness bring sorrow and dismay,
Don't despair, for I am there......
Just a Memory Away.

Dave's family,
I'm so very sorry to learn of Dave's death.
We worked together many projects at the Univ of Iowa. And his casual visits brightened our "cube farm".
We also shared a love of sailing and I greatly appreciated his "local knowledge" when Nancy and I traveled to Door County. His love of that area was certainly evident.
He is missed and the world will be less without him.
