The Lord called April (Buhr) LuMaye home on June 3, 2016.  She was born May 6, 1980 in Sturgeon Bay to Terry and Carrie (Malvitz) Buhr.  April was a graduate of Southern Door High School.  On March 12, 2011, she married Travis LuMaye at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.

April was currently employed by the Ridges Resort in Baileys Harbor.  She also worked as a child care provider.  April loved camping, going to the stock car races, and volunteering for school activities at her daughter’s school.

April always looked forward to celebrating and decorating for the holidays. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for her family or friends.

She is surived by her husband of five years Travis LuMaye,  her daughter Carley Rex-LuMaye, whom she loved dearly; her parents Terry and Carrie Buhr;  brother Dustin Buhr and his significant other Tracy Robertoy;  grandparents, Niles Malvitz, Alice Malvitz, and Edward Buhr; aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and her dog Melman. 

She was preceded in death by her grandmother Lillian Buhr and mother-in-law Judy Wautier.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 8, 2016 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Devotions will be conducted at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
