Susan A. Lokken

October 15, 1944 ~ August 5, 2015 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Susan A. Lokken, 70, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Aug. 5, 2015.  She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grand aunt, “avid” dog lover, volunteer, and friend. Only she could be active enough to wear all of these hats and do them well. Her entire life she gave all the love she had to everyone who needed help. She now has returned to the stars where her light will shine for eternity for all who need it.  “My Flesh and My heart may fail. But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Susan was born to James and Sally (Heil) Morgan on Oct. 15, 1944. Then blessed with a special mother Monnie Morgan who James married after Sally’s death.  She was married to Gerald Lokken on Aug. 13, 1966. 

She graduated from West High in Madison, WI in 1962 and from the Madison Academy Beauty School in 1963. Susan worked as a nurse’s aide at the UW Children’s Hospital from 1963-1969 and then at Sturgeon Bay Metal Products from 1974-2012.

Susan taught Fit for Life at the YMCA for 17 years and was recognized as Instructor of the Year in 2001.  As an active member of the YMCA, she volunteered as chaperone for a multitude of events.

Survivors include her husband Gerald; sons, Eric Lokken and his wife Jamie Lesko and Jeff Lokken and his friend Stacy Reinhart; grandchildren, Elaina Lokken, Terry K. Lesko, and Isabella Lesko; siblings, Robert Morgan and his wife Pauline, Mary McWilliams and her friend Gene Hume, and John Hayes.  Other relatives include Gayle Straw and her husband Henry, Glennys Kirkeeng; nephews Brad (Melissa), Chris (Brittany), Hunter, and Chase; nieces, Melissa (Sam), Stephanie (Adam), Andrea (Nick), and Kim (Tom); eight great-nieces and nephews; and friends, sons #3 and #4 Nick and Vern, Sharon, Nancy, Jan, Kay, Sandy, Elaine, Tracy, Marlyn, Monica, Diane, Linda Rodger, Barb, and all the people at Sturgeon Bay Metal Products.

She was preceded in death by her brother Michael Morgan, her sister Gail Pulvermacher, her parents James and Sally Morgan, and special mother Monnie Morgan.

A celebration of life will be held at the Nautical Inn in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
