Funeral Facts and News |
|
Forbes Funeral Home, LLC is a family owned and operated funeral business which is dedicated to serving families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Funeral directors Harold and Mark Forbes aspire to the highest standards of professionalism while striving to render compassionate and personal service. Because all families are different, Forbes Funeral Home prides itself in helping families in the way THEY want to be helped by respecting their religions, their values, and their preferences.
The directors at Forbes will go “above and beyond” to ensure complete client satisfaction. We have a modern facility with no steps or stairs anywhere on the premises. We also offer the largest chapels in Door County for those who have no church affiliation or prefer to have their services conducted at our facility. |

| Young children should never be denied the right to participate in the funeral process, nor should they be forced to do something they express an aversion to, like touching or kissing the deceased. Children should be encouraged to atttend the viewing and funeral , and be allowed to ask questions. Death is a natural part of life and children should be exposed to this as they grow up so they are equipped to deal with it later in life. Parents should do their best to answer questions about death and funerals honestly and to the best of their ability, avoiding euphemisms and untruths. Children should also be encouraged to express their grief in their own way. Perhaps a drawing, toy, or letter could be placed with their deceased family member which might express how they felt about their loved one. Adults sometimes fail to realize that children need to grieve and will usually do quite well participating in the funeral process with the rest of the family. If you have any concerns about children and the grieving process, talk to your funeral director for more information and direction. |
