Prayers and well wishes for the whole family. Dora leaves me with fond memories of good times and great meals. I especially enjoyed camping with Dora and Frank at Peninsula and Potawotomi State Parks.

When I was a child it was great to visit the Schmidts. It was even greater as years passed especially when we visited from South Carolina and Janice was overwhelmed by Aunt Dora's warmth, not to mention the delicious meals she insisted we eat prior to leaving.

The Century farm was a wonderful place, but not because of the acreage, but because of Dora and Frank. No wonder it was one of Dad Louis Bosman's favorite places.

We share warm memories with all and extend or sympathies.

Well, Mary - another milestone in your life. I imagine all kinds of memories are popping into your brain. Tom and I are with you even if we aren't there right now. Give our love to your whole family, and take care of yourself. My prayers are still with you every day, although I miss a day once in a while. Which means the human experience still goes on. Love, "us"

Tom called me this morning and told me that his mother(Dora) had died. I have thought of her often through the years - we became good friends when she worked of us at
Dufek's Shoe Service and we had many great times together. You have my sympathy.

Mom.....you were the greatest mother ever....thank you for the wonderful life.
And please accept my apology for forgetting Aunt Alice DeWitt in your obituary.....When Bob used to threaten to run away from home you would ask him, "Where are you going to go? Bob would reply, "Aunt Alice's!" You were always perplexed as Bob was afraid of his Teddy Bear and initially, Santa Claus. Our sleigh rides to Midnight Mass with Ginger and the "One House Sleigh" are indelible memories.....thank you Mom......Tom

Tom,

I am so sorry to hear of you Mom's passing. My mother loved her and your mom wrote to Mom saying she considered my mom her best friend. What a gift. Mom and Dad loved your mom and dad and had so much fun together. Never forget your Dad's special Manhattans !!! End of an era.

I did not know about Bob. What happened ?

Love and prayers,
Marianne Wortiska Malenk

Marianne....

Bob died of cancer on July 14, 2014. Sad. He called me about three weeks before he died and told me he was getting better. I was shocked and just made it to his burial. Mom was never the same. What a perfect mother Dora was. Bob and I had a Camelot life.

Marianne....I will never forget our visit with you in Bakersfield in 1953. We fished crabs with bacon off a dock. How are Charlie and Denise?

Please contact Bridge and I in Hawaii ..(808) 990-3070. Tom Schmidt

From the time I was a child it was always great to visit the Schmidts. Later when we visited from South Carolina Janice felt so at home by the warmness of Aunt Dora, let alone her great meals which she insisted we have before leaving.

The century farm was a wonderful place, but it wasn't the acreage, it was Dora & Frank.

We share fond memories with all and our condolences likewise.
