Robert “Bob” Sperber, 84, Sturgeon Bay passed away on August 21, 2015.  He was born July 15, 1931 in Sturgeon Bay to Herbert and Anna (Wagner) Sperber.  He served his country in the U. S. Army from 1953-1955.  On April 22, 1961 he married Jean Torp at Institute.  She preceded him in death on October 23, 2012.

Bob was a life time member of the National Farmers Organization and had served as Door County President.  He was also a ten year director of the Production Credit Association of Green Bay, a long time member of the Door Drifters Club, a member of the American Legion Post #72, and a former member of the Sturgeon Bay Jaycees, having served as vice-president. Bob was a lifelong farmer and also sold Vigortone Feed and Mycogen Seed for many years.  Bob felt blessed to have lived his dream of working the family farm all of his life.

Survivors include his three children: Cyndi (Mike) Frea, Sturgeon Bay; Mary (Andy) Skarvan, Sturgeon Bay; Amy Sperber, Green Bay; three grandchildren: Carley Frea, Andrew Skarvan, and Matthew Frea; a sister Marilyn (Wayne) Carney; in-laws; Darlene Torp, Annie and Loren Peil, Tom Torp, Jerry and Dolores Torp, and Jim Torp; and “Extended Family”: Larry, Bernie, Jessi, Pete, Angela and Mathias Brickner.  He was preceded in death by his wife, two sisters, Corrine Sperber and Grace (Wally) Kurth.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
