Vincent Maccoux, 85, of Brussels passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2023, surrounded by his family, after bravely battling cancer. He was born October 27, 1937, to Elmer and Eunice (Gilson) Maccoux. On September 28, 1957, he married the love of his life, Ella Mae Kinnard.
Vince learned a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills during his formative years on the family farm. He became the first GM Certified Technician in Door County. He later worked at Proctor & Gamble in Green Bay while also doing part-time mechanic work at home with his sons. Vince retired from Proctor & Gamble in 1998 to prioritize quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also worked part-time for the Town of Brussels.
In his leisure time, Vince enjoyed playing cards, fishing, traveling, hunting, gardening, attending music festivals, and spending time outdoors. He lived by the motto “Anything worth doing is worth doing well.” The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Unity Hospice, Dr. Guntapalli and his team for their compassionate care.
Survivors include his wife, Ella; six children, David (Karen) Maccoux, Randy (Debbie) Maccoux, Dan (Cathy) Maccoux, Phil (Carla) Maccoux, Lori (Rick) Huebner and Jeff (Oscar) Maccoux; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Sandy) Maccoux; sister-in-law, Yvonne Maccoux; brother-in law, James Wanek. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Eunice (Gilson) Maccoux, a sister, Rita Mae Maccoux; a brother, Cletus Maccoux; a sister, Pat Wanek; and a granddaughter, Traci Maccoux.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023, at St. Francis and St. Mary Church in Brussels. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and then after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of services. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
