Verda Clara Gigstad, 99, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 8, 2025. She was born on March 15, 1925, to Henry and Myrtle (Kohlmorgen) Uecker in Forestville. On May 30, 1948, she married Wallace E. Gigstad who preceded her in death on November 18, 2000.

She was a patient and a truly loving mother as well as an avid gardener. Verda made a great habit of saying thank you to most that crossed her path and was a member of Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her two children, Penny (Tony) Angerer; and Jan (Barbara) Gigstad; both of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren Kate (special friend, Michael) Gigstad, Pewaukee; Anna (Douglas) Reaves, Greenfield; two great-grandchildren; Henry, and Vivienne Reaves; as well as two brothers, Lloyd (Lyla) and Leland (Carol) Uecker of Sturgeon Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Kenneth (Marilyn) Uecker; Lynn (Anita) Uecker; and sister, Jane Hoffman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 15, 2025, at Forbes Funeral Home with Pastor Peter Mannoja officiating. Burial will be in Tanum Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
