Rosalie Mary Schmidtke, 86, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on July 8, 2024. She was born on March 28, 1938, in Milwaukee to Henry and Helen (Novak) Rickert. On June 17, 1967, she married Gerald F. Schmidtke at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2018.
Rosalie was a faithful attender at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She also loved to read, watch T.V. and movies, dancing with her husband Gerald, especially square dancing, playing cards like sheepshead and royal rummy, and bird watching. She also enjoyed camping, family vacations and get togethers. Rosalie was a real connoisseur of pizza.
Survivors include 4 sons, Peter (Ginger) Ostrowski, Two Rivers; Alan (Ana) Ostrowski, Oak Creek; John Schmidtke, Sturgeon Bay; Gerald H. (Lisa) Schmidtke, Algoma; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Joanne Kintopf, brother-in-law Larry (Ann) Schmidtke; and her cat Trixie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and her dog Molly.
A private family interment will take place at Bayside Cemetery.
