Michael William Condra

Michael William Condra, 29, of Chicago and formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Oct. 27, 2022, in Chicago.  He was born in Chesapeake, VA on March 6, 1993, to James and Julie (Strohm) Condra. He grew up with his family there, in San Diego, CA and then they moved to Sturgeon Bay in 2002.

Michael was creative, inquisitive, loved the outdoors and people. His favorite past times were gardening and cooking.  Shortly after graduation from high school, he was selected to be on staff for Mexico Caravan Ministries in Tijuana for a year. He led teams on builds, studied the Bible, and continued honing his automotive and cooking skills.

Only a few months after returning from Mexico, his passion for agriculture lead him to AIM: Africa Inland Missions. He began in Lesotho learning agricultural techniques to share with villages in Mozambique. He taught, preached, and made lifelong friends throughout the year he served. He was then accepted at Moody Bible Institute. There he joined the Moody Debate Society and was elected as vice president.  He always enjoyed a good debate. He graduated in 2018 with honors in Biblical Studies.

During high-school and the summers between college years, he had his own landscape business. After college, he worked for Enterprise for 2 and 1/2 years climbing the ladder to managing his own store. For 8 months he worked for Infinity Inc. as a customer success consultant. His current job was with Coates Group as a technical project manager. He resided in Chicago for the past 8 yrs. 

He is survived by his parents Jim and Julie Condra, 5 siblings: Andrew (Erin) of Fresno, CA, Mark (Josephine) of Asia, Hannah (Isaac) Blean of Pleasanton, CA, David of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, and Jonathan of Sturgeon Bay; nieces and nephews: Athena, Roman, Sage, Violet, and Rainier; paternal grandmother Katherine Condra of Kingman, AZ; aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Benjimin, paternal grandfather, Robert Condra, maternal grandparents Roy and Emilie Strohm.

Funeral services will be 6:00 pm Monday Nov. 7, 2022 at the Sturgeon Bay Community Church with visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.  Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
