Mary B. Perry

Mary Perry, 92, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on March 25, 2024, at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Sturgeon Bay.  She was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Avon Lake, Ohio to Howard and Vera (Frese) Mac Lennan.

After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High School, Mary studied nursing at the old Door County Memorial Hospital.  After becoming an LPN, she continued to work at the hospital in Sturgeon Bay and then for the hospital in Algoma.

On Nov. 23, 1950, she married George Evans Perry in Algoma.  His career as an oil reclamation engineer led the couple to live in various cities around the country.  They eventually settled in Louisiana.  After her husband died in 1993, Mary moved back to Sturgeon Bay in 2006 to be near family.

Mary loved playing bridge and was a voracious reader.  She also enjoyed needle point.  She was an active member of the United Methodist Church of Sturgeon Bay and loved her church family.  Mary was also a passionate member of the P.E.O.

Mary was always a kind, generous, gracious, and happy person, even when she was struggling with health issues.  She was always there for anyone who needed help of any kind.  Mary always cherished her long lasting and deep relationship she had with the Perry family.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, 3 Godchildren, Betty Price, Amber Price, and Aaron Price.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 7 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the United Methodist Church of Sturgeon Bay.  Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Memorials may be directed to the Pete and Jelaine Horton Center Skilled Nursing Facility.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
