Lorraine Marietta Selvick 93, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on December 25, 2021, at Door County Medical Center. She was born on January 15, 1928, in Chicago, IL to Otto and Anna (Larson) Nelson. On June 26, 1948, she married Bernard M. Selvick in Chicago; he preceded her in death on October 22, 2013.
Lorraine was known as an extraordinary seamstress who could overcome any challenge and produce a perfect product. She sewed for Palmer Johnson Yachts, Al Johnson’s Restaurant and numerous other homes and businesses. Lorraine had many, many interests including golfing, Norwegian heritage and culture, and dancing. She lived a life driven by her faith in Jesus Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Paul) Freitag, Arizona; Nancy (Dave) Bontempo, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Heidi (Brian) Dye, Chicago, IL; Kate (Dan) Glesner, Green Bay; Andrew (Leigha) Freitag, Arizona; four great grandchildren, Gabriel, Silas, Ruby and Hudson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and numerous cousins of the Larson family.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Nancy Bontempo officiating. A private burial will be in Hainesville Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Thursday.
