Karen Marie Johnson, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, died on Feb. 16, 2022.  She was born Nov. 27, 1939, in Menominee, MI to Sylvan and Laura (LaPointe) Valcq.  On May 16, 1964, she married Richard Johnson in Menominee, Michigan.  He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2004.

Karen enjoyed knitting and sewing and selling her creations at farmers markets.  She also liked hanging out with friends, going out to dinner, and playing games and cards.   She always loved Door County and the people she met there. 

She is survived by two sons, Todd (Amy) Johnson, Germantown, WI; and Gary (Monica) Johnson, Galena, OH; 4 grandchildren, Taylor (Jalin) Lutze-Johnson, Jake Johnson, Adrianna Johnson and Paige Johnson; 1 brother James (Marianne) Valcq, FL; 1 sister, Kay (Chuck) Achterhof, MI; brother-in-law James Johnson, Sturgeon Bay.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.  Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery in Milwaukee.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
