Gary G. Krause

Gary George Krause, 63, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully at Aurora BayCare Medical Center on November 8, 2023. Gary was born in Sturgeon Bay on February 22, 1960, to Elmer and Louise (Buhr) Krause. He graduated from Southern Door High School in 1978. Gary went on to work for Gordon Alberts Construction, DeKeyser Builders, and Franda Builders. He was also a huge help on the family farm.

Gary enjoyed watching the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He had a passion for hunting turkeys and whitetail deer. Gary also enjoyed shooting dart ball with his brothers and cousins for Coun’s “C” Club. He will always be remembered as the master of one-liners. 

Survivors include his siblings, Nancy (Bill) Fleischman, James (Lisa) Krause, Karen (Mike) Kraus, Sandra (Ravinder) Tanwar; Don Krause, Joan Franda, and Sue (Tony) Hunsader; brother-in-law Phil Johnson and sister-in-law Sally Krause; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike and Kaye.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Louise Krause; sister Diane Johnson; brothers, Robert and Keith; and brother-in-law Randy Franda.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels.  Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.   Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay from 3:00 to 6:30 pm on Monday, Nov. 13, and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 am until the time of service.   A prayer service will be held at 6:30 on Monday at the funeral home. 

Gary’s family would like to thank the staff at the Sturgeon Bay DaVita Dialysis Center and Aurora BayCare Medical Center for their wonderful care and support. Gary will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
