Frank Adelbert McLain Jr., 68, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away suddenly on March 31, 2023, at his home. He was born in Michigan to Frank and Eleanor McLain on Feb. 5, 1955.
Frank grew up in Michigan. After getting married, he moved his family to Door County in 1979. Where he worked in the shipyards in Sturgeon Bay and later as a machinist at Emerson Motors.
Frank enjoyed bonfires and working on the “never ending project pile” with his son Frank Jr. He loved motorcycling and the “feeling of the wind in his hair”. Frank especially treasured spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by two children, Frank McLain III, and Lana (Andy) Alger, all of Sturgeon Bay; stepdaughter Miklaya (Kyle) Herlache, Sturgeon Bay; 6 grandchildren, Frank IV, MaKensie, Livia, Vincent, Ryder and Kimberly; 3 sisters, Sue (Bill) Gunn, Michigan; Debbie (Joe) Gajeski, Scottville, MI; Fran Strother, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Thomas, and his wife Tonette McLain.
Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
