Evelyn LeCloux Obituary

Evelyn Agnes LeCLoux, 90, of Maplewood, passed away at her home on May 26, 2020.  She was born July 26, 1929, to Joseph and Annie (Servais) Jeanquart in Door County.  On October 20, 1948, she married Leonard J. LeCloux, he preceded her in death on April 22, 2015.

Evelyn was an excellent homemaker and farmed with her husband in Maplewood for many years.  Evelyn also worked at Plumbers in Algoma, Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay, The Square Rigger Lodge in Jacksonport, and the Landmark Resort in Egg Harbor.

She always appreciated being outdoors, especially gardening and feeding her birds.  Evelyn loved her church and enjoyed many years of making blankets with the quilters at Holy Name of Mary Church.  She was a hardworking, loving and hospitable person who welcomed countless people into her home for love, support, and guidance.  She had a special place in her heart for her children.  Evelyn will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include 4 children, Cindy Goudreau (special friend, Bob Schmelzer), Little Sturgeon; Dennis “Denny” (Mary) LeCloux, Sturgeon Bay; Mark (special friend, Myra Lagerman) LeCLoux, Stevenson Pier; Allen LeCloux, Sturgeon Bay; daughter-in-law, Alvina LeCloux, Sturgeon Bay; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Sister Claudette Jeanquart; and Shirley LeCloux.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roger; grandson, Shawn LeCloux; brothers, sisters, and in-laws.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating.  Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.  A public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28 at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.   A limited number of people will be allowed in the building at one time and proper social distancing measures will be implemented according to current public health guidelines.  Visitors are asked to enter the building through the side door where the orange cones are placed.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
