Douglas Alan DePas, 62, of Niagara, WI, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Maryhill Manor Nursing Center in Niagara, WI where he was lovingly cared for by staff.
He was born on January 2, 1961, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Louis and Arlene (Erickson) DePas. Doug graduated from Niagara High School, Class of 1979. Doug lived most of his life in the Niagara area, but loved to travel. He worked as a postal worker for the U. S. Postal Service for over 23 years where he retired in 2018.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid golfer and carried an annual pass from Oak Crest golf course for many years. He loved being outside with nature and enjoyed activities such as hiking, camping, swimming, skiing, photography, playing chess and cards.
Doug was a kind and generous man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a wonderful father, family man and friend and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his parents, Louis (Kathy) DePas, Michigan and Arlene DePas (Fran LaFave), Wisconsin; his children, Dominique DePas, Michigan, and Desmond (Ashley) DePas, Sturgeon Bay, WI; his brothers and sister, Greg DePas, Wisconsin, Jeff (Teresa) DePas, Wisconsin, and Kelly DePas-Rumpf, Michigan; his grandchildren, Cameron, Collin, and Carter DePas, all of Sturgeon Bay; step-siblings, Jason (Kendra) Bath, Michigan, Kelly (Don) Mulholand, Wisconsin, and Kristin (Kevin) Jones, Wisconsin; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life event will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, for close family and friends. Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
