David Charles Lautenbach, 84, of Egg Harbor passed away on Oct. 1, 2021 after a long and dignified battle with cancer. He was born August 21, 1937 in Sturgeon Bay to Charles and Minerva (Vertz) Lautenbach Sr.
David was a very energetic man who was always busy and on-the-go, never sitting still. He enjoyed going to the casinos, playing cards and ice fishing. David was owner and operator of Economy Marine in Carlsville for many years where he repaired small engines and boats. He had a reputation for being able to fix anything, never backing down from a challenge, and had a story to go along with every job.
On February 8, 1958, he married Janet Ann Sitte in Sister Bay. She survives as do six children, Theresa Tanck (Chris), David Lautenbach (Krissy); Debbie (Richard) Vig, Steve (Ann) Lautenbach; Julie (Sam) Heimbecher; Jim (Reed) Lautenbach; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Darrel (Mettie) Lautenbach, Dan (Jan) Lautenbach, Lawrence (Cheryl) Lautenbach. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Joan Doubek and a brother, Charles (Nancy) Lautenbach.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Forbes Funeral Home with Deacon Tony Abts officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
