Cyrus "Cy" Kerscher

Cyrus Henry Kerscher, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on May 15, 2022, at Sycamore Lodge Senior Living in Algoma.  He was born May 3, 1935, in Forestville to Gabriel and Lorraine (Jome) Kerscher.

Cy graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and then served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959.  He worked at Algoma Hardwoods for many years. 

Cy enjoyed hunting and belonging to gun clubs. He also loved watching the Brewers and following Door County League Baseball.  In his retirement, he traveled extensively on various bus tours.  Cy was a man of faith and a devout Catholic.  He always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with relatives and friends.

Survivors include a niece, Joni (Gary) Witalison, Fish Creek; nephew, Rob (Ilsa) Kerscher, Houston, TX; four great nieces and nephews, Allura, Travis, Brady, and Dalton; and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roger (Jane) Kerscher and a sister Joni Kerscher.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2022, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood with Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Friday.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
