Claire Veronica Bosman, 87, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on March 2, 2026, at Door County Memorial Center, with family and friends at her side.  She was born October 25, 1938, to Charles and Clara (Vandermause) Meunier. On September 29, 1956, she married Darrel J. Bosman in Maplewood.  He preceded her in death on January 1, 2011.  They were married for 54 years.

While raising four sons, Claire worked as a bus driver for Southern Door Schools.  She retired after 31 years of service.  She was a long time and active member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood, volunteering in numerous capacities. 

In her younger years, Claire played softball.  After marrying Darrell, they enjoyed many years of camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling and attending country music festivals.  In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards with friends.  She especially treasured time spent with family.

Survivors include her four sons, Kenneth (Kim) Bosman, Sturgeon Bay; Dan (Dana) Bosman, Forestville; Darrel A. Bosman (and Sue), Sturgeon Bay, and Dennis Bosman, Sturgeon Bay; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; and “little sister” Brenda Willems.

She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, Caitlan Bosman; great granddaughter, Regan Allen; brothers, sisters and in-laws.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.  A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. that evening.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family would like to thank the Emergency Room Staff, the ICU staff and the Med Surge staff at Door County Medical Center for their excellent care, comfort and support.  Also, thank you to Sturgeon Bay Health Services for all the care they provided to our mother.
