Beverly Ann Schmeling, 77, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on January 1, 2021, in Appleton at Theda Care Hospital. She was born on September 7, 1943, in Algoma to Philip and Sylvia (Ullsperger) Dufek. On August 5, 1972, she married Gary Schmeling at St. Mary’s Church in Algoma. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2013. Beverly graduated from Door/Kewaunee Normal College with a degree in teaching.
Beverly enjoyed reading books, bowling and singing. She was into crafting and liked watching her bird feeders. Beverly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead and her time in Florida.
Survivors include her three children, Jennifer (Anthony) Van Den Wildenberg, Kaukauna; Barbara (Alex) Almario, Milton, FL; Gary A. Schmeling, II, Appleton; two grandchildren, Alyce and Lucas Van Den Wildenberg; three sisters, Pat Kohlbeck, Neenah; Jane Coppersmith, Neenah; Mary Bouche, Brussels; two sisters-in-law, Leann Dufek, Green Bay; Audrey (Knudt) Miller, Milton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gary; a brother, Jerry Dufek; mother and father-in-law, Edna and Jennings Schmeling; a sister-in-law, Elaine Barret; 4-brothers-in-law, Charlie Coppersmith, Mark Kohlbeck, Dick Mohr, Reggie Bouche.
Private funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. James Gomez officiating. Burial will be in the Forestville Town Cemetery.
