Beverly Harmann Obituary

Beverly Jane Harmann (Krueger), 80, took her rightful place in Heaven on Nov. 20, 2021.

Beverly was born January 30, 1941 to Raymond and Ruth Krueger of Forestville.

She graduated from Algoma High School in 1959 and was secretary to the executives at Algoma Hardwoods. She later studied teaching in the Twin Cities and returned home to marry her high school sweetheart, Ernest Harmann, on April 27, 1963.

They started their life together in Sturgeon Bay where they had their first three children, then bought the family farm in Forestville from her grandpa Walter in 1969. Bev and Ernie had their youngest child as they ran their dairy farm and got through many challenges together, including a barn fire and the rebuilding of their farm and house in 1977. Bev made the farmstead a truly beautiful home, where she grew flowers all over the yard and around the house. She kept a large garden including a raspberry patch which she turned into her famous raspberry jam.

Bev was an incredible baker and cook, and threw warm, inviting holiday celebrations for the whole extended family for nearly 50 years. Bev was also an active member of Tanum Forest Lutheran Church in Claybanks, where she taught Sunday School and helped run dozens of special events for holidays, celebrations, and fundraisers. One of her special talents was sewing and she made hundreds of quilts to send overseas for families in need.

Bev was passionate about charitable causes and spent a lot of her free time and funds helping community organizations and nonprofit groups. Bev was very musically talented at vocals, piano, organ, and accordion. Bev also had quite the fun streak, and she and Ernie lined the walls of their basement with trophies from dart ball, bowling, and archery. They were a formidable polka pair at all the local dance halls and even down the aisle of the barn while milking to the sound of WAUN polka station.

Bev loved her neighbors in the farming community as much as she loved her family and church congregation. She gave endless energy and kindness to everyone she met and is remembered by all as a sweet, generous woman, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include four children, Judy Harmann (Jeffrey) and her children, Justin (Meghan) Suriano, and Jana Suriano; Jerry (Lori) Harmann and their children, Mallory (Rebekah), and Derek; Timothy (Lisa) Harmann and their children, Hannah (Mitchell) and Jonah; Amy (Peter) Mannoja and her children, Noah, Caleb and Isaiah; one brother Larry (Jeanette) Krueger, and sister-in-law Emajean Harmann.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Ruth Krueger, her brother Gerald Krueger and her husband Ernest Harmann.
