William “Bill” Dehos, 78, of Sturgeon Bay, went to his eternal home on Jan. 20, 2020, at Sturgeon Bay Health Services. Bill was born on Oct. 15, 1941 in Baileys Harbor to Edward and Ruth (Knudson) Dehos.
Bill was a very accomplished and self-taught woodcarver. He could take a piece of wood, mold it with a chain saw, and create the wonders of the animal kingdom. He carved squirrels, cats, dogs, owls, bears, foxes, perch, etc… His work sold at Spillman’s in Sister, Baileys Harbor, and around the world.
He was also a self-taught mechanic and when anyone needed help with a vehicle, he was right there to lend a hand. He also had a gift of understanding how to use computers, again, always willing to help others with their technology needs.
Bill is survived by his significant other, friend, companion, co-worker of thirty-five plus years, Mary Leisk; also surviving are his two brothers, Dan (Marilyn) Dehos, Spartan, MI; Edward (Alice) Dehos, Baileys Harbor, WI; two sisters, Jane Monfort, Sister Bay; Gloria Rex, Baileys Harbor, WI; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, Leland and David Dehos.
