Troy E. Rass

Troy Edwin Rass, 40, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Door County Medical Center on October 8, 2018.  He was born on July 3, 1978, in Sturgeon Bay to Dale and Kathy (Poehler) Rass.  Troy graduated from Southern Door High School in 1997.  On October 9, 1999, he married Katy Weir in Brussels.

Troy was the owner and operator of Rass Excavating.  Troy loved spending time with his family, cooking of every kind, hunting and fishing, hobby farming, and going on vacations.  He also enjoyed stock car racing, and just being part of his children’s lives.  Troy loved his pets, Graham and Radar.

Survivors include his wife, Katy; four children, Cody, Cameron, Autumn, and Caleb Rass, all of Sturgeon Bay; parents; one brother, Shannon (Shannon) Rass, Brussels; parents-in-law, Jeff and Maggie Weir, Sturgeon Bay; two brothers-in-law, Kyle (Angie) Weir, Minneapolis, MN; Shawn Steffan, Madison; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; one sister-in-law, Kerry Steffan; and one uncle, Frank Poehler.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay.  According to Troy’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
