I knew Dorothea through St. Ann's Society. We worked on bazaars together, and I was so delighted to hear what a wonderful seamstress she was because I too love to sew. I didn't realize until I read her obit that she was an avid quilter, but how I wish I'd known that sooner, since I'm just venturing into that aspect of sewing. I could have learned so much from her! I do have one of her handmade aprons. I always wear an apron in the kitchen, so I quickly snapped that one up at our church bazaar. Dorothea was manning the craft table, and when I saw the twinkle in her eye, I asked, "Did you make this?" Indeed, she had. I continue to use it, and every time I put it on, I'll say a prayer for her. A woman of such deep faith has found her home in heaven, but I know how difficult her sudden passing is for the family. All of you have my and my husband George's condolences and prayers.

I am so sad , that Dorle passed so suddenly. She was my holliday -mother in 1984, when I spended a summer in Sturgeon Bay.
We met eachother several times in the last years. She was a wonderful woman,
Friendly, with such a big heart and so strong.
I cannot find the right words.

I was so sorry to hear that Dorothea had passed away. She was a very special person, always had a smile and kind word. She sewed many dresses, outfits and matching doll dresses for my daughter (Sarah) for many years. They were beautifully done!! Always loved our visits with her when we picked them up at her home. She will be missed! My sincere sympathy to her family. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Mann Family,
I am so shocked and so very saddened to learn of Dorothea's death. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss.
I have many memories of Dorothea over the years. We utilized the water exercise classes at the old Peterson Pool, and that is where we first met. I always admired her for how hard she worked at those classes. I then came to know that Quinn and my daughter were the same age and we would see each other periodically at school events or at church. When my 2nd daughter was in second grade Dorothea made her First Communion Dress. It was a masterpiece and my daughter looked like a princess in it. The next year, Dorothea again came to the rescue and altered that same dress to fit my 3rd daughter. Again over the years, I would see her here and there and we also had some short discussions during her years when she worked at Econo Foods. I also remember her rehab stays after her surgeries and how hard and diligent she worked to get back on her feet and home again. She was a woman of strength and courage.
May God keep you all in His arms and may you find comfort in your warm memories and the love of family and friends.
May she rest in peace.
