Sylvan Baudhuin 

 
 

 
  Sylvan Joseph Baudhuin, 89, of Brussels, passed away at home on July 21, 2008.He was born on April 3, 1919 in Door County to Joseph and Mary (Charlier) Baudhuin.Sylvan lived and farmed all of his life in the Town of Union.He was a member of the Wisconsin Holstein Assoc. since 1956.Sylvan was also a member of the Wisconsin Towns Assoc. for 36 years and the Farm Service Agency for 40 years.He was a founding member of the BUG Fire Dept. and served from 1967-2005.He was also the fire department treasurer for 38 years.Sylvan also served as the clerk for the Town of Union for 36 years, from 1965-2001.In his younger years, he painted many houses and church steeples.On Nov. 22, 1938 he married Rose Tebon in Duval.She preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 2005.For many years, Sylvan cared for his wife after she was disabled by a stroke.He also acted as a caregiver for his son when he was battling a terminal illness.Survivors include 3 grandchildren:Galen (Lisa) Baudhuin, Brussels; Joe (Tiffany) Baudhuin, New Franken; and Holly (Geoff) Hansen, Sturgeon Bay; 2 great-grandchildren:Dustin and Brooke Baudhuin; 1 sister-in-law: Blanche Baudhuin, Green Bay.He was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Clayton and Bonnie Baudhuin, a grandson, Brian, 3 brothers: Arnold (Doris), Herman (Jennie), and William; 2 sisters:Josephine (Jule )Noel and Adele (Ernest) Delfosse.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels with Rev. Pius Cotter officiating.Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
