Welcome to the memorial page for

Muriel A. Vogel

April 7, 1930 ~ August 6, 2015 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Muriel A. Vogel, 85 passed away August 6, 2015, in the comfort of her new home at Pine Crest Village in Sturgeon Bay, WI.   After beating cancer 38 years ago, she was tired and unable to fight the stroke she suffered 9 days earlier.

Muriel was born April 7, 1930, in Brussels, to John and Ida (Rouer) Lardinois.  On September 30, 1950, she married Sylvester Vogel in Maplewood, WI.  He preceded her in death on August 4, 2000.

Known to everyone as “The Flower Lady”, Muriel owned and operated Vogel’s Country Floral for many years.  She touched the lives of so many with her kindness and the special touch she put into each arrangement she created.

Muriel was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood, where she had served as president of the Christian Mothers and chaired many church bazaars.  She was involved in 4-H serving as General Leader for the Lincoln Leaders 4-H Club as well as teaching the art of basket weaving and leather craft.  Muriel looked forward to the competition of exhibiting in the fair as well as working in the Farm Bureau food stand many years.

An avid sports lover, her radio or TV were always on if the Packers, Badgers, Brewers or Eagles were playing.  Muriel was proud of the Southern Door Eagles and in earlier years when her health was better, she wouldn’t miss an event.  Many trips were made from her shop to the school to deliver flowers over the years.  She enjoyed getting to know the kids and was as interested them as her own family.

Survivors include her 4 children:  Dan (Bonnie Berkey-Vogel), Luxemburg;   Debbie (Randy) LaCrosse, Dubois, PA and Sarasota, FL; Todd (Caryn) Vogel, Maplewood, WI and Tammy (Steve Frey), Green Bay;  8 grandchildren:  Shannon (Jennifer) Vogel, Chandler AZ;  Zachary (Trista May) Vogel, Sturgeon Bay; Brandon (Alison) Vogel, Phoenix, AZ; Chad (Lyn) LaCrosse, Wauconda IL; Cory (Julie) LaCrosse, Black Lick, OH; Ryan (Megan) LaCrosse, Morrow, OH; Derek Vogel, Ankeny, IA; Jadzia Vogel, Maplewood;  4 great- grandchildren: Connor, Grace, Olivia and Lauren LaCrosse; special 4-legged companion Mitchie; sister Diane (Alvin) Counard; brother John (Barbara) Lardinois; 4 sisters-in-law, LaVerne Lardinois, Eileen Lardinois, Marlene Lardinois and Donna Lardinois and 2 godsons: Duane Lardinois and John (Jay) Lardinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son David;  three sisters, Tillie Patton, Jean Guth, Esther Karnitz; five brothers, Eddie, Elmer, Norman (Rusty), Allen, and Donny Lardinois, many in-laws and God daughter Kim Counard Singh.
