Muriel DeNamur Obituary

Muriel DeNamur, 92, of Brussels died on March 24, 2018.  She was born in Brussels on August 9, 1925, to Ben and Agnes (Bournoville) Delfosse.  Muriel graduated from Brussels High School in 1942 and attended Badger Business College in Green Bay, WI.

She was employed for four years as a secretary at Smith Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay prior to marrying Lloyd DeNamur on November 7, 1946.  After they married, they owned and operated a family dairy farm in Brussels for thirty-five years.  Mrs. DeNamur was an Associate for over twenty-five years with the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross at Bay Settlement.  She was also a member of the Door County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for over twenty years. 

Muriel was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.  She is survived by her children, Marcia (Jeffrey) Degner and Thomas (Lynn) DeNamur, and two grandchildren, Christopher (Loryll) and Nicole DeNamur. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels.   Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Francis Xavier - St. Mary Parish or Sisters of the Holy Cross.
