Welcome to the memorial page for

Mitchell S. Normann

January 30, 2001 ~ March 26, 2017 (age 16) 16 Years Old

Mitchell Scott Normann was granted his angel wings on March 26th, 2017.

Mitchell possessed incredible strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible physical challenges. He was pure of heart and an inspiration to everyone he met. Through his courage, he led us to believe and see each day as a blessing and an opportunity to feel joy.  Mitchell adored his family and we adored him.  He especially loved listening to the rowdy laughter of his siblings, Megan and Jordan.  He loved being sung too by his Noni, snuggle time with Grandma, and endless love and encouragement from both his Papa and Grandpa. He loved listening to books, watching Finding Nemo and Frozen, swimming, and horseback riding.  He loved music, which seemed to be woven into the fabric of his soul, especially Alvin and the Chipmunks!

With Mitchell’s passing we remind everyone that his life is one to be celebrated.  We will miss him everyday, especially his sweet smiles.  He will forever remain in our hearts! It has been our privilege to be his parents. He has taught us by example the meaning of unconditional love and acceptance.

Mitchell leaves behind many wonderful nurses that over the years have provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Each nurse who came into Mitchell’s life became a member of our family and we thank of each of you for sharing your unique gifts with him. There is a special place in our heart for Nurse Paul who moved to Colorado with us and Nurse Michelle who supported Mitchell on his last day.  In addition, we are very thankful for the community of Sturgeon Bay and the endless support we received in enriching Mitchell’s life. We want to extend a special thank you to his many specialists, too numerous to name, at both Children’s Hospital of Denver and Children’s Hospital of Milwaukee.

Mitchell is survived by his loving parents, Matt and Myria of Evergreen Colorado; sister Megan; brother Jordan; paternal grandparents Eric and Nancy Normann of Sturgeon Bay, WI; maternal grandfather David Sheesley of Evergreen, Colorado; maternal grandmother “Noni” Rebecca Sheesley of Sturgeon Bay, WI; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 from 9-11am at St. Joseph’s Church. There will be a memorial mass immediately following visitation at 11am at St. Joseph’s Church.  A luncheon will follow mass in the St. Joseph’s Church Social Hall.
