Mary Ann Logerquist

September 2, 1944 ~ September 2, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Mary Ann Logerquist, 72, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at home on Sept. 2, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.  She was born September 2, 1944 in Sturgeon Bay to Verner and Jeanette (Pigeon) Gillick.  On August 4, 1973 she married John Logerquist at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Institute.

Mary Ann was a very loving person who provided day care for numerous children for over 40 years.  She touched the hearts and lives of many children and their families throughout the years and loved watching the children grow up. 

Mary Ann loved socializing and going to various restaurants with friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.  She was also a great cook and was known for her German potato salad.  Mary Ann will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband John; a son, Mark (Laura) Logerquist, Sturgeon Bay; daughter, Amy Logerquist, Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren, Miranda and Lilyanne; a sister, Darlene (Darreld) Krauel, Carlsville; aunts and uncle, Sandra and Bob Joski and Nancy Pfister; a brother-in law, Bill Christensen;  God children, Nick Joski and Lindsey Neinas; nieces and nephews; special friends, Kenny and Mary Bongle and Fyrn Jilot.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Kathy Beno.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Corpus Christi Church, the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Forbes Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until time of services. A prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Special thanks to Mary and Ken Bongle, Sandra and Bob Joski, and other neighbors and friends who helped Mary Ann during her brief illness.  Also thanks to Unity Hospice, Green Bay Oncology, and Dr. Steinke for the wonderful care and support.
