Mary Zettel, 91, of Arizona and formerly of Maplewood, passed away on April 16, 2017 in Gilbert, Arizona.  She was born in Stevens Point on March 7, 1926 and raised by her grandparents George and Pauline Engledinger.  Mary grew up in Colby and graduated from Colby High School. On May 29, 1948 she married Ralph Zettel in Maplewood.  He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 2011.

Mary was an active member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood where she served on the ladies altar society.  She and her husband were also active in the Forestville-Maplewood Lions Club.   Mary was a long time member and past president of the Sturgeon Bay Home and Garden Club.   For a number of years, she also worked as a study hall supervisor at Southern Door High School.

Survivors include 3 children, Stephen (Bette) Zettel, Libby, Montana; Deborah (David) Miller, Iola, WI;  Monica (Edward) Schaefer, Phoenix, Arizona; 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and husband.

A memorial mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood.  Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Inurnment will be in the church cemetery.   Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
