Louise Mary Ann Nault, 95, of Sturgeon Bay passed away at Sturgeon Bay Health Services (Dorchester) on June 9, 2017. She was born December 19, 1921 in Iron Mountain, MI to Armand and Elizabeth (Blitte) Prenevost.
After high school, Louise enlisted in the U. S. Army (WAC) on November 15, 1943 and worked at the Pentagon as a courier of top secret information. When discharged, Louise returned to Iron Mountain. After a one month whirlwind romance, she married Walter Nault in Iron Mountain on March 20, 1946. Although many said it wouldn’t last, they enjoyed 57 years of marriage until Walter died in 2003.
In 1952, she, her husband and 3 small children moved to Sturgeon Bay. Louise worked for Dorco for many years, retiring in 1981. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafting, and most of all woodworking in her garage. She loved to tap dance and was an active member of the YMCA. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Gary (Cheryl) Nault, Armand “Chum” (Linda) Nault, Marilu (John) Djuplin, Kathy (Gary) Behling, all of Sturgeon Bay; 13 grandchildren, Paul (Pam) Nault, Tim Nault, Matt (Denise) Nault, Nick (Megan) Nault, Kimberly Nault, Becky (Mike Pride) Nault, Greg (Kristi) Nault, Brad (Rebecca) Nault, Wes (Beth) Djuplin, Dan (Shuheng) Djuplin, Karyn (Lucas) Solum, Tyler (Samantha) Behling and Kristopher Behling; 15 great-grandchildren; in-laws Bucky and Shirley LaVigne; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, a brother Armand (Gloria ) Prenevost and many in-laws.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Corpus Christi Church. Inurnment will be at the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Forbes Funeral Home and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to the Door County YMCA and to Unity Hospice.
