Lawrence “Larry” Sahs, 90, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on June 22, 2017, at Sturgeon Bay Health Services (Dorchester).  He was born June 4, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Lawrence and Grace (Hallmann) Sahs. 

On September 11, 1950 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and after serving his country he returned to Chicago and worked in a family owned construction business.  Larry and his family then moved to Door County where he continued in the construction business and also became a fruit grower for over 40 years.  Larry loved the time with his family and enjoyed the many events he was able to spend with them.

Survivors include five children, Randal (Renae) Sahs, Sturgeon Bay; Kristine (David) Nath, Sturgeon Bay; Kathy (Phil) Hennessy, FL; Jeanne Ruleau, IL; Mitchell Sahs, FL; nine grandchildren, Katie, Erin, Megan, Michael, Amber, Alexandria, Dianna, Erica, Thaddeus; five great-grandchildren, Amelia, Quinn, Penny, Gavyn, and Chloe; sister, Marilyn Carberry, IL.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judith; and a son, Lawrence Alan.

Funeral and Military services will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017, at the Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.  Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
