I met Juanita in a childtime play group. As a young mom I often watched other moms and how they disciplined. Juanita had a way about her - calmness, consistency and patience. I can vividly remember her hugging Maddox at 2 or 3 yrs old in a rocking chair to just keep him - cool, calm, collected. She was an angel on earth for many and now will have a different view to help.

James, Debra, Christopher, Misty and family of Jaunita,
I am so sorry to hear about her passing. This has to be such a shock to you and I can't even imagine what you are going through right now. Grief can be very challenging. Your mom would be there to softly encourage you through this. Remember her in this way.
Jaunita was the most patient and kind woman I have ever known. She had so much inside of her that she shared unselfishly with so many.
I have fond memories of being a teenager, perhaps 14 years old, and being introduced to her. She welcomed us into your home. Jim, you were just a little boy at that time and I remember when Debra was born. How we enjoyed holding you and marveling as you grew. We spent countless hours visiting with Jaunita. We experienced love and laughter and the freedom to relax and be ourselves with her. She was more than a friend, she was our counselor, our mentor, our spiritual guidance and our companion. If we ever had a need to talk to someone, we could go to her and she had just the right things to say.
Jaunita was one of those people who if you did not see her for a while, when you did, the friendship resumed right where it left off. There was never an interruption in time with her. I recently had a brief chat with her. It was old times again. She was a true "warm fuzzy" in my life. If I had known that it was going to be the last time we spoke, I would have most certainly told her how much her friendship meant. .
She had a wonderful sense of humor and creativity. I'd love to have the time to sit and tell you about one particular night when she gave a party at your house and and nearly scared this greenhorned teenager half to death with a pretentious seance. It is more than 40 years later and I still laugh when I think about it. Jaunita had a gift and she made herself a gift of love to every person and creature that breathed God's Good Air and she will be missed by many.
May God bless you and comfort you during this difficult time and May She Rest In Peace.
