Welcome to the memorial page for

Jim (Jamie) Mineau

December 1, 1957 ~ September 5, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Jim (Jamie) Mineau, 59, left behind his HD ravaged warrior body on Sept 5th, 2017. His soul is now at peace in the universe as he begins his next journey free of the pain and burdens inflicted on him by this terrible disease.

Jamie was born in Sturgeon Bay, where he lived all his life. Among his great loves were hunting, fishing, his crows, the great blue Willys jeep, his boat, and his beloved beagles. But more than anything he cherished his friends and family, and although he didn’t see them often, his kids and grandkids. He was a man of many talents, cooking, canning, taxidermy, welding, bartending, auto mechanics and body work and many others best left unmentioned.

He spent the last ten years of his life fighting Huntington’s Disease, with the last four being in assisted living requiring around the clock care. He was able to spend his last ten days at his home where he fought to the very end, but ultimately HD won. HD always wins.

A special thank you to Compassus Hospice, especially Gina and Stephanie who understood his journey better than anyone. His devoted care givers, Naomi, Melissa and Heather, strong, kind women who loved and treated him as family. It was their compassion, humor and ability to endlessly watch Clint Eastwood movies that brought dignity and value to the last days of his life. And Mitzi, who never stopped caring and was there till the end.

We ask that anyone wanting to honor his memory consider making a donation to the Huntington’s Disease Foundation so there will come a day where HD never wins.  On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com

Go rest high on that mountain our brother…

Your work here on earth is done.
