Gerald J. Fabry, 76, of Brussels, died suddenly on May 10, 2017.  He was born Aug. 26, 1940 in Brussels to Wilbur and Mildred (Virlee) Fabry.  Gerald graduated from Brussels High School in 1958 and then attended the UW-Green Bay University Extension for one year.  On Sept. 15, 1962, he married Donna Duquaine at St. Louis Church in Dykesville.

For 19 years, Gerald and his mother owned and operated Fabry Milling in Brussels.  He later went on to work as an electrician, mostly for Peterson Builders Inc. in Sturgeon Bay.

Gerald was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He enjoyed many hunting trips to Alaska and Canada.  He and his wife also spent many years traveling around the country.  He especially liked the time they spent in Arizona.  In his younger years, Gerald enjoyed bowling and snowmobile racing.  As a talented “Mr. Fix-It”, he had a never ending list of projects and things to repair.  Gerald will always be remembered as a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Donna, 3 children, Tim (Becky) Fabry, DePere;  Dawn (Scott) Koltz, DePere; and Amy (Kraig) Aune, Brussels; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua (Mindy), Nicholas, Ian, Miranda, Brock, and Isaak; sister Nancy (Larry) Adams, Green Bay; brother Kevin (Donna) Fabry, DePere; and sister-in-law, Carol Tremble; also cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law Anna and Henry Duquaine, and in-laws Mary and Richard VanLanen and Ed Tremble.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday from 3-7:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  A prayer service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
