Betty Schram, 88, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 8, 2016, after a long illness with cancer. She was born May 16, 1928 in Sturgeon Bay to John and Elsie (Hafeman) Krueger. Betty graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1947. On Sept. 13, 1947, she married Martin “Gene” Schram in Racine.
Betty was a long time and active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church and a past member of the church needle club. She was an avid card player and enjoyed bus trips to the casinos. Betty will always be remembered for the gift of love, laughter, and friendship she gave to those whose lives she touched.
Survivors include her husband Gene, 3 children, Pam DeMelle, June Schram, and Marty Schram, daughter-in-law Nancy Schram and son-in-law Dean Gigot, all of Sturgeon Bay; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Harold and daughter Mary Gigot; brother Harold Krueger, 2 sisters, Ruth (Fred) Corran and Laura (Richard) Anselme.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joel Sauer officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9-11:00 am. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
