Robert "Bob" Brown
(June 24, 1939 - April 13, 2012)
Robert J. “Bob” Brown, 72, of Forestville, passed away at home on April 13, 2012. He was born on June 24, 1939, in Sturgeon Bay to Clyde and Edna (Hardy) Brown. Bob attended Liberty Grove and Gibraltar Schools. On Dec. 7, 1957, he married Delores Tesnow in Ellison Bay.
Bob worked for Masterfreeze Corp., owned B&L Builders with Sam LeRoy, did carpet laying for Wilke Furniture, and in 1978 moved to Maplewood where he and his wife owned the Brownsville Station. In 1983, he started up Bob’s Auto Sales in Forestville. Bob loved to play cribbage, race stock cars and trucks in both Sturgeon Bay and Luxemburg, as well as participating in demolition derbies. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing. He also loved to hunt in Canada and out west. Survivors include his wife, Delores; 3 children, Scott and Lois Schubert-Brown, LaVerne and John Zuroske, and Connie and Brad Hale; 6 grandchildren, Rob and Molly Brauer-Peterson, Nicole Worley (and friend, Paul), Taylor Worley (and friend, Marissa), Tyler Brown, Rachel Hale, and Brook Zuroske; 4 step-grandchildren, Lauren and Kelly Hale; and Cory and Mike Zuroske; 3 great-grandchildren, Liliah, Isaiah, and Aubrey; a brother, Clyde Brown, New Berlin; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Dorothy and Mel Pluff, and his pal, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Audrey Brown. There will be a visitation and time of remembrance at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, checks can be made out to the Robert Brown Memorial Fund. Proceeds will go to Thunder Hill Raceway.
