Laura Perry
(May 16, 1914 - March 21, 2012)
Laura Perry, 97, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side on March 21, 2012 in Green Bay at Wyndemere Estates. She was born on May 16, 1914 in the Town of Union to Charles and Mary (Euclide) Jeanquart. On September 16, 1940 she married Tyrus “Ty” Perry in Maplewood, and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2001. For many years Laura and her husband owned and operated Perry’s Berry Farm. Prior to her marriage Laura and her sister Rose had owned a beauty parlor in Luxemburg . She was a life long member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and recently a member of Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood. Laura loved to garden. She was creative and artistic in all her handiwork projects and enjoyed playing cards very much.
Survivors include children, Suzanne “Sue” (Neal) DeBaker, Sturgeon Bay; Diane (special friend, Jim Swenty) Brenkus, DePere; Janice (Steve) Perry Wood, Sturgeon Bay; twelve grandchildren, Bryan (Julie) DeBaker, Paul (Laurie) DeBaker, Barry (Leslie) DeBaker, Eric DeBaker, Cynthia (Iain) Henry, Jeffrey (Colleen) Brenkus, Kristin Brenkus, Kurt (Aimee) Brenkus, Lauri (Eddie) Rizzo, Nicole (Brian) Hudson, Rebecca (Brent) Krekelberg, and Adam Vandertie; seventeen great-grandchildren. Laura was preceded by her parents; husband, Ty; three sisters, Louise Wiese, Mathilda Schneeberger, Rose Tlachac; and one granddaughter, Christina. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Maplewood with Rev. Anthony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of services. The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the caregivers at Cardinal Ridge, Wyndemere Estates, and Unity Hospice.
