Grace Mary Rass, 92, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on February 27, 2012, at Cardinal Ridge CBRF in Sturgeon Bay. She was born on June 24, 1919, in Brussels to John and Josephine (Rankin) Vandertie. On April 27, 1938, she married Wilfred Rass in Misere; he preceded her in death on February 6, 1991. Grace and her husband had farmed in Maplewood for many years. They enjoyed dancing and were past members of the Happy Hoppers.

Survivors include two children, Milton (Joanne) Rass, Luxemburg; Elaine (Joe) Martinson, Hobart; seven grandchildren, Bruce Rass; Debra (Jeff) DuChateau; Rebecca (Dale) Konkol; Tina Huettl; Jim Martinson; Julie (Spencer) Spaude; Tricia (Matt) Vorpahl; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Marie Rass and Emma Conard; special niece, Virgil Doell; many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 1, 2012, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday February 29, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
