Harriette D. Knaup

Harriette Dolores Knaup, 84, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2012, at Ministry Door County Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 1, 1928, in Rhinelander, WI to Leslie and Margaret (Wiedeman) Jarvis. On June 25, 1949, she married Clifford Knaup in Rhinelander. Everyone who knew Harriette was touched by her quiet, gentle, and caring ways. She was a true example of selfless giving and caring which was most apparent in the way she loved and cared for her husband. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Curt (Laura) Knaup, Amherst, VA; Thomas (Malia) Knaup, Sturgeon Bay; Carol (Roger) Gumtow, Reedsville, WI; Bruce (Jill) Knaup, Sturgeon Bay; Tim (Kim) Knaup, Sun Prairie; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Gross, Rosemary (Robert) Campbell, Janice (Ronald) Peterson, Joan (Edward) Ruether; three brothers, Richard (Shirley) Jarvis, William (Eileen) Jarvis, and Larry (Sandy) Jarvis; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Williams; one sister-in-law, Dee Dee Jarvis. Harriette was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Patricia and Virginia; five brothers, Leslie Jr., Gerald, Robert, Allan, and James; one great-grandson, Colton McCormick.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with burial to follow at Bayside Cemetery, the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday July 29, at the Forbes Funeral Home and on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Devotions will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
