Sandra Louise Kay, 75, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on July 15, 2012, in Green Bay at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center. Sandie was born on December 9, 1936, to Michael and Louise Petrovich. On November 27, 1958, she married Paul Kay in Milwaukee. Sandie graduated from Messmer High School in Milwaukee and also from Milwaukee County General Hospital School of Nursing. Sandie enjoyed working in the O.B. unit at Door County Memorial Hospital as a registered nurse for many years. She also co-owned Paul’s Shoe Store and Saddlery with her husband. Sandie was an avid reader and an awesome cook.
Survivors include her husband, Paul; four children, Allison (Randy) Nesbitt, Sturgeon Bay; Theresa “T.K.” (John) Meredith, Sturgeon Bay; James (Beth) Kay, San Diego, CA; Martin (Helen) Kay, Alpine, WY; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Alaina Nesbitt, Zach and Cole Meredith, Dylan and Tyler Kay, and Trevor Weldon-Kay; one great-grandson, Brycen; and one sister, Judy Krawczyk. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Holy Name of Mary Church in Maplewood with Rev. Robert Konkol O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the Town of Clay Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Dialysis Center in Sturgeon Bay for the years of wonderful care.
