Emma Meta Lockstein, 93, Sturgeon Bay passed away at Golden Living Center-Dorchester on June 10, 2012. She was born June 13, 1918 in the Town of Underhill in Oconto County to Edward and Adelia (Karsted) Deering. On July 28, 1937 she married Chris Lockstein in Gillett, he preceded her in death on May 16, 2002. Emma did a family tree “Book” covering five generations. She enjoyed many hobbies, knitting Afghans for her grandchildren and other relatives. Emma also enjoyed crocheting, needle work, gardening, custom sewing and bird watching.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Norman) Renier, Green Bay; a son, Dennis (Mary Anne) Lockstein, Forestville; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Arneson, Oconto Falls; two brothers, Arthur Deering, Milwaukee; Harry Deering, Shawano; a sister in law, Esther Deering, Shawano; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, James; three brothers, Hugo Deering and his wife Germaine; Reinlhold and Walter Deering; brother in law, John Arneson; and a sister Sophie Horsens.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until time of services. Memorials may be given to St. Peters Lutheran Church in her memory.
