Jerome I. Buechner

Jerome Ivan Buechner, 85, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on April 24, 2012, at Ministry Door County Medical Center. He was born on September 27, 1926, in Nasewaupee to Andrew and Minnie (Hausmann) Buechner. On September 4, 1949, he married Helen Walther at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Jerome hauled milk for Lake-to-Lake from 1950-1963. For many years, he owned and operated Larson Sanitary Equipment Inc. until his retirement. Jerome was a life time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and a past member of the Sturgeon Bay Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; two children, Becky Buechner and Mark Buechner, both of Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Andy, Josh, and Matt Buechner and Jessie (John) Smith; in-laws, George (Elizabeth) Walther and Georgette (Royce) Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. Jerome was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim; sisters-in-law, Patsy Walther and Hazel (Myron) Laubenstein; close cousins, Rod (Betty) Buechner and Kathleen (Harry) Wilson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating. Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Forbes Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Richard Hogan and the staff at Ministry Door County Medical Center for the excellent care and support.
