The Forbes Funeral Home was established in 1982 by Harold R. Forbes. Founded as Sloan Funeral Service at the beginning of the twentieth century, the business operated as the Stoneman Funeral Home on Madison Ave. in Sturgeon Bay from 1925 to 1970. From 1970 to 1981 the business was owned by Soulek Funeral Homes and managed by Harold Forbes. In 1970, Soulek built the current facility, located on Green Bay Rd. After working for Stoneman and Soulek, Forbes assumed ownership in 1982 and continues as senior partner of Forbes Funeral Home & Cremations, LLC.
