Stanton “Stosh” Peterson, 59, Sturgeon Bay passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009 at Door County Memorial Hospital, after suffering from a lengthy illness. Stanton was born to George and Bessie (Wilson) Peterson on March 28, 1950 in Sturgeon Bay.He graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1969. He worked for Bay Shipbuilding Company as a welder and was a member of the Boiler Makers Union. Stanton was an avid motorcycle enthusiast; he also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be missed by all of his card and cribbage playing friends within the surroundings of Little Sturgeon.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry (Michael) Virgin, Sturgeon Bay, one granddaughter, Kendall Virgin, five brothers and two sisters, Donald (Pat) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; Ethel (John) Korntved, Sturtevant; Stanley (Sandy) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; Clarence (Erin) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; Allen (Debbie) Peterson, Sturtevant; Pauline (Paul) Peterson, Egg Harbor; Billy (and his friend) Peterson, Illinois; additionally, Stanton had a great deal of particularly close and life long friends, who are a part of his extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Elaine Peterson and Mary Ardith Peterson.
He was very well known and liked, always willing to help others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Monday, April 20 at the Forbes Funeral Home. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established. |
