Margaret H. Gray, 101, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on June 27, 2009 at Whispering Pines. She was born on August 22, 1907 in Oak Park, IL to Christian and Addie Emma (Lombard) Hafner. Margaret earned a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College in California. In 1935, she married Leland Richard Gray in Evanston, IL and they raised their family in the Oak Park area. She and her husband had owned a cottage in Fish Creek since 1951 and spent many summers there.
Survivors include 2 children: Margaret (George) Collier, CO, and Bob (Irene) Gray, Sturgeon Bay; 4 grandchildren, Wendy Pardue, Michael (Catherine) Collier, Carla (Alvis) Hedeen, and Nicole (Mark) Johnsen; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (1980), 3 sisters, Marion, Irene, and Eugenia, and an infant brother, Robbie. Memorial services will be conducted at a later date with burial in the Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IL. |
