Larry Walter LaCrosse, 55, passed away from unforeseen complications of a recent illness on July 9, 2009. Larry was born on June 5, 1954 to Marvin and Hazel (Braley) LaCrosse in Sturgeon Bay, WI. On June 5, 1982 he married Cindy Harding, and was blessed to become the father of two sons he dearly loved and was so very proud of, Levon, born in 1987, and Tyler, born in 1991. Larry loved being outdoors, whether it was hunting or fishing with Combsie or Buck, having bonfires and hanging out with his best friends Steve and Mare, going up to Hurley with his sons to hunt and fish with Kevin and the crew, or one of his most favorite past times, cruising the back roads on his beloved motorcycle. Larry had a love for the open road, and took his family on many trips out west. There was no destination too far, or back road too remote for him to want to travel down. He loved music, Native American History, Impala’s, and tracking down and exploring his Belgian ancestry. He is survived by Cindy, his beloved sons, Levon and Tyler LaCrosse, Sturgeon Bay; two brothers, Marvin “Fuzz”(Nancy) LaCrosse and Scott (Christine) LaCrosse, all of Sturgeon Bay; brothers-in-law, David (Jennifer) Harding, Alameda CA., Jonathan Harding, Minneapolis, Steve (Sue) Harding, Littleton, CO., Mike (Janis) Piety, Two Rivers; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Harding, Portage; one aunt, Dode Rockwell, Sturgeon Bay; nieces, nephews, many cousins, his best friends, Bob Poh, Steve Thiede, Gary Combs, Kevin Lardinois, and their families, and about a million friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; Marvin and Hazel LaCrosse, and his grandparents. Larry, we will honor and remember you for your ability to bring out the best in us. You were quick with a smile, kind beyond measure, and always willing to give of yourself to others. You loved your family with all your heart, encouraged us, and were proud of us. You were a good man, and we are all better for having known and loved you. Please join us to honor and celebrate Larry’s life at his memorial service, to be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009, 1:00 PM at Cindy’s residence, (the EIEIO Farm) located at 6523 County C, Sturgeon Bay. Friends and relatives are encouraged to bring pictures and their favorite “Larry” stories. Burial will be at a later date alongside his grandparents at St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Namur, WI. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for his family.
“One more day, one more night, one more sunset maybe I’d be satisfied. But then again, I know what it would do, it would leave me wishing still, for one more day with you.” Diamond Rio |
