John Kenneth Nelson, 66, Sturgeon Bay passed away on March 1, 2010 at Door County Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born March 20, 1943 in Sturgeon Bay to John E. and Kathleen (Wulf) Nelson. On October 10, 1964 he married Suzanne Kiehnau at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Valmy. During his life John worked for Lake to Lake Dairy and was involved with car sales. He also worked at Peterson Builders and Emerson Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne “Sue”; two children, Julie (Kerry) Dragseth and Greg (Karen) Nelson, Sturgeon Bay; four grandchildren, Kendra and Kendall Dragseth; Trevor and Braeden Nelson; two brothers, Richard “Dick” Nelson, Green Bay; David (Dolly) Nelson, Milwaukee; his mother in law, Doris Kiehnau, Sturgeon Bay; brother in law, Ron Kiehnau, Sturgeon Bay; two sisters and brothers in law, Becky Kiehnau-Conlon and Terry Conlon, Sturgeon Bay; Carrie (Doug) Petersilka, Sturgeon Bay; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and father in law, Fritz Kiehnau.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Sturgeon Bay, the Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Forbes Funeral Home and then after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church until time of services. A memorial fund has been established. |
